Book Review: Max on Life: Answers and Insights to Your Most Important Questions

Book Review: Max on Life: Answers and Insights to Your Most Important Questions

Thank you to BookSneeze® for providing a free copy of this book for me to review.

I was so excited to receive a copy of this book in the mail from BookSneeze. I am a very spiritual person and I believe anyone else who is too would love this book. No matter what you may be going through I believe everyone can gain a positive perspective on their circumstances they are facing by simply putting your trust and faith in Heavenly Father. This book will help you gain this positive view.

Max on Life was a fun book, as the author Max Lucado shared letters he had received over the years. The letters were filled with questions about our Heavenly Father and His Word. The book is broke up in 7 sections which consisted of Hope, Hurt, Help, Him/Her, Home, Haves/Have-Nots, Hereafter. Max Lucado focuses on God's promises to all of his children in this amazing book.

This book provides a lot of insight into the bible and is a good read. I rate this book a 5 out of 5. I highly recommend this book.

Jolt! Get the Jump on a World That's Constantly Changing By Phil Cooke

Jolt: Get the Jump on a World That's Constantly Changing by Phil Cooke is a book that helps us take control of our ever changing lives. I was so excited when this book arrived!! I love the title and was impressed with the cover of the book....Yes, I know, never judge a book by its cover!! Phil Cooke writes that his purpose of Jolt is to help the reader navigate through life during constant change. Cooke suggests 25 different "jolts" that we need to point us in the right direction. They deal with many areas of life including: time management, accountability, productivity, faith and much more.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and think others will too. Phil Cooke is very convincing to the point I began writing down my own life goals and aspirations. Something I believe most people can benefit from. This book is very practical and I believe it is a great addition to every homes personal library. I would rate this book a 5 out of 5!

Book Review: The Final Summit A Quest to Find the One Principle That Will Save Humanity By Andy Andrews

Book Review:
The Final Summit:
A Quest to Find the One Principle That Will Save Humanity
By Andy Andrews

Thank you to BookSneeze® for providing a free copy of this book for me to review.

This is a sequal to the authors first book which I have not yet read, but I took Booksneeze.com's offer of a free copy in exchange for review since it seems like a worthwhile read. After all, a complimentary book from a highly-acclaimed author should be something pretty good, and I'm vary glad I did decide to take this book.

The main character, David Ponder, has learned the 7 Decisions (during The Traveler's Gift), and now he is an old man nearing the end of his life. As he contemplates life without his wife, who recently passed away, he is visited by the archangel Gabriel and told he is to join a summit of all the Travelers throughout history. Their task is simple: answer one question with a 2 word answer. The question is "What does humanity need to do, individually and collectively, to restore itself to the pathway toward successful civilization?"

I found the story interesting and it moved along at a fast pace. Overall I recommend the book to others and am glad I have read it. I would rate it 4 out of 5.

Reggie: You Can't Change Your Past, But You Can Change Your Future by Reggie Dabbs with John Driver

Thank you to BookSneeze® for providing a free copy of this book for me to review.

This book is an inspirational one! Each year this man speak to more than two million people and his name is Reggie. An inspiring and mind blowing character!
It was during his second grade that he realized that he was not the real son for his parents. He was adopted and he was the answer to a twenty dollar deal his mother made to bring up her other children. But although this book might sound like a serious plot, it was indeed full of humour and of course thought-provoking. Not missing the stories of Reggie's travel around the world and the details of his life. Reggie have told a great story and this might change the way you think about life.
This book provides a lot of insight into both men and is a good read. I rate this book a 5 out of 5. I highly recommend this book. It is an easy read providing lots of insight into his life.

Book Review: We Be Big - The Mostly True Story of How Two Kids From Calhoun County, Alabama Became Rick & Bubba

Thank you to BookSneeze® for providing a free copy of this book for me to review.

Before reading this book I knew of Rick and Bubba but nothing of their background story. I was pretty amazed by their story. Their book is so open and honest and more then once I found myself laughing out loud at their stories. They truly believe it was by Gods will that they met and are where they are now. Not that it hasn't been a trying and difficult path that they took to get there though.

This book provides a lot of insight into both men and is a good read. I rate this book a 5 out of 5. For any Rick and Bubba fans out there, I highly recommend this book. It is an easy read providing lots of insight into their lives and helps to fill in any gaps you may have.

Book Review: A Conversation With God By Alton Gansky

Book Review: A Conversation With God By Alton Gansky

Thank you to BookSneeze® for providing a free copy of this book for me to review.

I was very excited to receive this book from BookSneeze to review. I was surprised when I received it though. The format of the book is drastically different then what I expected. This book is a series of questions and answers with the answers by God, Jesus, and other biblical figures.
I found this book to be "dumbed down" on most levels and I'm still not sure how I feel about someone pretending to talk as God himself. Overall, I believe that on a lot of levels this book can be a good reference for many people learning about Christianity or younger readers looking for additional scripture references. This book also addresses a lot of questions that I think younger readers would like to ask God, such as "God, Who Are You?" and "Is Satan Real?".
Overall, I would rate this book at a 4 out of 5. This is an easy read and one that I believe most people will enjoy. It is one that I am passing on to a younger friend who I believe will find the book enlightening.

Book Review: Couples who Pray: The Most Intimate Act Between a Man and a Woman

Squire Rushnell, Louise DuArt. Couples who Pray: The Most Intimate Act Between a Man and a Woman. Thomas Nelson, 2011. 224 pages.

Thank you to BookSneeze® for providing a free copy of this book for me to review.

The main purpose of this book is to provide a 40 day prayer challenge for couples. To get you started, it includes a questionnaire which is helpful for understanding where you stand as a couple in prayer life.
I was very excited to read this book after requesting it from booksneeze.com. I am a firm believer in the power of prayer and was hoping this book would provide addition insight for my marriage.
The writing is clear and easy to understand. The book also provides personal accounts from famous and not-so-famous couples. I did enjoy the personal accounts the book offered but I wish it included more scripture references. For me, this book reinforced my already standing beliefs of the power of prayer especially in marriage. For newly engaged or married couples I would recommend this book. For couples who already have a prayer routine established, this book will have little to offer, only just reinforcing your beliefs. Or if you just enjoying reading other peoples accounts of the power of prayer in marriage, then you will probably enjoy this book.
Overall, I would rate this book a 3.5 out of 5 stars. If it was full of scripture references I probably would have rated it higher.
